  1. What is SEO?
    In simple terms Search engine optimization (SEO) is a practice followed by website creators to get the visibility of their website in Search Engines like (Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yandex, Baidu etc) organically (Unpaid results).

  2. Does the order of keywords matter in a page title for search engines to rank higher?
    Yes, Google Algorithms pays a lot of attention to the keyword order, keyword proximity, and keyword density. So make sure you are using the important or targeted keywords at the beginning of the title and URL in the exact same order to rank high in search engine.

  3. Which is better for SEO hyphens or underscores in urls? (Hyphen(-) vs Underscore( _ ) )
    The recommended approach is to use hyphens in the URL’s as google will separate the word when used hyphens and if you are using an underscore google will treat it as a single word.
    Eg:
    google_search_engine :- Single Word
    google-search-engine :- Multiple words

  4. Do meta keywords have any impact on ranking algorithms?
    No. Meta keyword is currently obsolete and neither Google nor Bing uses meta keywords to rank the content in their search engine anyway. It might have little impact on Yahoo and other search engines but it’s very negligible and not worth spending your time on it.

  5. Can I have multiple H1 tags on the same page? Does it affect my ranking?
    H1 tags are usually used for describing the main headline or title of the post. Use it wisely, do not fill the page with H1 tags and control with CSS. If your page has large content and if you feel that you might require 2-3 H1 tags then you can probably use it without affecting the ranking.

  6. What is Google Page Rank(PR)?
    Google Page Rank is a tool used by google to measure the rank of each web page that are crawled by google. The Page Rank indicates how much reputable is your web page over the internet. Higher the page rank indicates the page is popular and very reputable over the internet.

  7. Do URL shorteners pass anchor text?
    All the popular URL shorteners like(bitly, goo.gl) use Permanent 301 redirections and if google sees there is a 301 redirection then it will pass page rank to the final destination page. In general, there is no harm in using URL shorteners as the juice will flow through the anchor tags. However if you are posting the link in twitter which in turn shorten’s the URL with nofollow tag then Google will consider those links for page rank and juice will not flow through to your page.

  8. Does Website Speed Affect the Search Engine Ranking?
    Yes, Google has made it clear that they do consider the website speed in their ranking factors. Google uses around 200+ ranking factors before they decide where to place your website in the SERPs. Google will definitely punish your site if your website is very slow even if you have a good content, backlinks, social shares you may still not rank higher in SERPs.   9. Is Google Analytics data a factor in a page’s ranking?
    No. According to Matt Cutts Video Google never considered nor used Analytics data like Bounce rate, Time on site etc to rank the web page in the Google Search engine. They also confirm that they do not use the users analytics data in the web spam analysis

  10. What Is An Ideal Bounce Rate?
    The acceptable bounce rate for any website should be between 20% to 50%. 20% bounce rate means 1 in 5 people leave your website without fulfilling any conversion and 50% bounce rate means 1 in 2 people leave your site without any conversion. It also depends on the niche of your site, Lowers the bounce rate better the conversion rate and more successful you can be.

  12. What is the ideal keyword density of a page for better ranking?
    Well, there is no optimum keyword density to rank higher in SERP’s. Google suggests writing natural articles with your targeted keyword in the article. The best way is to have 1-3 % of keyword density along with Semantic keywords and LSI keywords. This way you will rank higher in SERP’s. Do not overdo and repeat the keywords multiple times unnecessarily, google calls it as keyword stuffing and punishes if it’s overdone.

  13. How does Google determine domain age, and is it important for ranking?
    Google has its own ways of determining the domain age. Matt Cutts confirms in the video that Google does not verify the WHOIS Database for verifying domain age even tough google is registar. Google determines domain age based on the first crawl of the website, mean when did it appear for the first time for crawling or if they see a link to a domain.
    Domain Age importance for Ranking : You need not worry that much about because “The difference between a domain that’s six months old versus one-year-old is really not that big at all.

  14. Does Keywords in domain name help in building Ranking?
    Keyword in the domain use to matter few years back but now it doesn’t matter much now unless if it’s your business name. If you are building a brand, product or business it’s good to have the domain name with your business name or brand name. There are domains like Zynga, Facebook, Google, Twitter which is not a keyword but people can remember easily and it’s not keyword-laden domains.

  15. Should I use LSI Keywords in Title and Description Tags?
    Yes, Search engines are moving to LSI Keywords and treats as a relevancy signal for the ranking in search results. LSI keywords in meta indicate to search engine to distinguish between synonyms and rank the page.

  16. Is it important to place the Keywords in URL? What about the length of URL and stop words in URL?
    Yes Keywords in URL acts as an important factor and improves the ranking. If you are using WordPress then placing the keywords in tags is also very important. Always remember to keep the URL length short, longer URL’s looks spammy and not recommended and avoid the stop words like (an, the, of, this, that etc) in the URL. Place the important and targeted keywords only in the URL.
